Méltemi - Woven Rattan Pendant light

A suspended straw hat silhouette, wide and asymmetrical, with wavy edges as if lifted by a gust of wind. The fine rattan weave radiates from a central cone into a flat, flared brim, slightly distorted on one side. The fiber, blond and tightly woven near the top, becomes more open around the edges, allowing light to shine through. A small light wood cap connects it to the black cable.

The Woven Rattan pendant light Méltémi takes its name from the wind that blows across the Aegean Sea in summer, its shape echoing the flexibility of a hat caught in the breeze.

Once switched on, the light radiates from the central cone and glides toward the edges, becoming more diffuse as it passes through the more densely woven areas. The shade turns warm honey, particularly vivid at the top and more subdued across the hat's brim. The asymmetrical shape creates an uneven projection on the ceiling, with one side brighter than the other. In a room, the piece introduces movement, as though frozen in mid-flight.
