Claros - Travertine Ring Pendant

A thick ring of travertine, carved from solid stone, forms an almost perfect circle around a luminous core. Riddled with natural cavities and fine mineral veins, the stone retains the raw texture characteristic of quarry-cut travertine. No other material interrupts the continuity of the stone: the curve closes in on itself, with no visible joint.

The Travertine pendant light Claros takes its name from the ancient sanctuary of Claros in Ionia, home to one of the most widely consulted oracles of Apollo in Greek antiquity, a place of stone, light, and sacred circles.

Suspended from the ceiling by a simple cable, the piece diffuses its light from inside the ring, invisible from the outside. The glow escaping from below illuminates the table or worktop with a round, focused light, while the upper surface of the stone remains in shadow. The contrast between the opaque mineral material and the contained light gives the object a sculptural presence, almost like a suspended pebble.
